I doubt it. I’m the one who was bitten by the cottonmouth in September. I learned that wasps snd bees release a histimine poison and snakes release venom which is not a histimine. Benedryl does nothing for a snake bite because it’s totally different.

In the early 80s i was bitten by a moccasin (i was 14ish). No antivenom, my foot swelled up to the size of a football, but not much pain. No lasting effects. Very few people die from snake bits in the US. Unless poor health, most folks will be fine.

I got bit by a cotton mouth when I was 18. Bit me on the elbow. They didn't give me antivenin either, just pumped me full of antibiotics. Monitored me for 4-5 hours and sent me on. I was pretty sick feeling for a couple days but that was about it. The amount of swelling in my arm was pretty crazy though.
