Story is a retired Army or Marine armorer traded it in. Round count is unknown, but was mentioned “a lot” via the original owner and gun store manager. Some parts were swapped due to wear. I assume it was the trigger, hammer, and beaver tail safety.
Slide felt really smooth and the trigger was really light….
All for $599. Wife is getting it for me for Father’s Day next month. It’s my first Father’s Day, as is my wife’s first Mother’s Day this weekend. Might become an heirloom for when my son’s first Father’s Day rolls around.

600 for a Colt?
Great deal. I’d have walked out with it as well.
ETA: happy Mother’s Day to your wife and congrats.

Very nice Series 80 1911.
Aftermarket hammer, sear, internals, springs, beaver tail grip, extended safety, and trigger are likely Wilson Combat or Ed Brown. In the early 90’s, there were only 4-5 companies that offered aftermarket custom gun parts for the 1911. You had to buy from Brownell’s or direct from the manufacturer. Around 1992, I customized a Series 70 Combat Commander that looks similar to your pistol. Enjoy that new toy
