Who’s got one? Was fortunate enough to be given one this weekend. How is it to take down, clean and reassemble. Any tricks to this weapon? Accuracy? Comparison to othe bullpups?

Fun gun to shoot that has the “tacticool” factor. FN forum and YT have lots of info ... Disassembly

Got one. Had the charging handle replaced with judochops steel one. The pluses are no recoil, cool round ejection process and reliable as can be. The big cons center around the heavy trigger and ergos not up to AR15 level so no bolt bold open and no drop free magazines. You also can only use GI magazines so PMAGs don't work.

It's a cool gun and you may never see another one at range. Definitely gets the stares.

Magpul made the EMag for it.
Don't the Gen 3 PMags work with it and other FNH/H&K weapons? I know they're slimmer, partly because of the USMC using the IAR.

There's probably a reason militaries who previously used a bullpup are going to AR style rifles. Not sure if it's bullpups in general or rifle specific issues. The French ditched the FAMAS for the HK416 and New Zealand ditched the Steyer AUG (some consider the finest iteration of the bullpup) for an LMT AR. Israel seems to be the only country to be going in the opposite direction, but I'm sure it's because they know 90% of their fighting will probably be kicking in doors.

Emag only works after some modifications to the magazine itself. Fnforum.net has quite a few threads on it and how to do it. The aluminum gi mags work very well though.

They claim the A3 upgrades make it a great weapon, but I think it's just pride at this point. I've heard that the growing pains on that pile of shite were horrible and never really were worked out. Do the Tommy's admit its garbage?

The FAMAS had to shoot steel cased ammo and had to use 20 round mags so that basically defeated the entire purpose of having a NATO standard

The Tavor is alright but I generally can't stand bullpups (especially being a lefty).
You just can't beat a pony.

Isn't the big advantage of bullpups is that they're fully ambidextrous?

Well it looks like all the cons were covered by Kino. Although it’s reliable, I will also add that clearing malfunctions from a bullpup with no ejection port is near impossible. Good thing it’s reliable!

Some are but the biggest advantage of bullpups is the short overall length. Since the magazine is right under your shoulder and the chamber is right in front of it, the barrel can also be longer while maintaining the short length. I think the Tavor has an 18” barrel. Unsure what the FN’s is though.

Well, yeah. That was the assumption.

I guess I've just been around normal rifles too much to the point that I just don't see how bullpups really have any major definable advantages in normal application. Seems like the compactness advantages come out in the wash when you consider additional factors.

The FS2000 is little under 17.5 inches. Overall length is its strong suit, just under 30 inches. It's about the same length as one of my 14.5 inch extended A2 flash hider AR15s.

I like its uniqueness. It's not my go to rifle but it works and I enjoy shooting it alot. If anyone wants something different, it's worth a look.

I did forget to add that the triggers on bullpup rifles are generally garbage although there are some companies making premium triggers for them. Just expect to pay up.
