Going to Pirate's Cove for Memorial Day. House has an over head light and neighbor has underwater light.

Im gonna get the kids rigged up to catch croaker and piggies with hi lo rigs just using fish bites.

My main question is how can I set up other rigs to catch something bigger using the baitfish we catch or bigger pieces of fishbites? Would love to have a couple of bottom rigs going in rod holders but I have done a lot of fishing like that.

Go to Academy and get some hard plastic popping corks (they cast easier than the styrofoam) tie a #6 treble hook about 2-3 ft under it and add a live shrimp hooked through the horn.

We usually take a flow bucket to the bait shop and a 5 gallon bucket.

Put shrimp in flow bucket and flow bucket in 5 gallon bucket with water to keep them alive until you get to your spot then you can tie the flow bucket in the water.

Trout, Reds, Flounder will all hit it

Be careful with the freaking hardheads, I got a barb in my hand one time . IT SUCKS

I have a fried with light in the Rigolets. He uses glow plastic minnows at night for redfish. If you shine a flashlight or your phone light on it before you cast it will glow a lot brighter.

Then swim it back right in the edge of the underwater light halo.

Get a few packs of the 3" Tsunami swim shad. The hologram pink is best this time of year. Rip it thru the edge of the overhead lighted area and let it fall into the lit area. We have been killing the specs at night with these on the bay front. Shouldn't be all that different if you are on a canal on Lake Como.

Cheap spec rigs. Either the one with little glow Shad’s or one with little shrimp tails but with white on one and chartreuse on the other.

Piece of cut mullet on bottom for redfish.

Highlight so far was catching a 26.5'' mama trout in the middle of the day on a popping cork and gulp shrimp.

Caught a couple reds on down south lures glow bait on a 1/4oz jig.

Kids have caught what seems like 100 croaker and pigs on fishbites. They cant get enough. Even my two year old has caught a couple solo with his ugly stik dockrunner. Little dude is a gamer.

Ive caught 4 sand trout but all on a popping cork with gulf shrimp. I've gone through 3 pints of live shrimp without even catching a hardhead. Seems really weird.

Several nights we have seen monster gar in the lights. Between them and the pelicans I wonder if theyre scaring the trout away.
