Best place to launch and stay? Maybe somewhere with room and slip to leave the boat in over night. I've been before but I was in high school 15 years ago and don't remember where we stayed.

Better than a bass boat some times and some places. Plenty of bay rigs on TB..

Fin and feather Resort is good and close to some of the best fishing on the lake.

As long as your bay rig has a trolling motor, if not it will be tough to bass fish.

Learn the boat lanes and when not in a boat lane you need to be at idle speeds.

No slips, but South State park has some nice cabins too.

The really screwed up the boat docks. They were designed for multiple boats to nose in from each side. The pilings are too close together for many, many boats, so people just pull in right next to it(I'm guilty). You then have two boats tied up instead of 4 to 6.

Huge fishing feaux pas, baw.

Just kidding, if you have a bay boat and white oakleys you'll fit right in.

I get lots of inside info from bass fisherman when in my bay boat since they all think I'm lost and have no idea what I'm doing.

If you're unfamiliar with the lake, I would much prefer to be in a bay boat. Toledo is 10 miles wide at its widest and gets nasty in a hurry. I would rather be in a boat designed for more chop than in a bass boat when the lake gets rough.

Lots of bay boats on the lake. You can tell which ones came from south Louisiana also. There is a little tension between the locals and the cajuns due to keeping everything they catch. Pretty funny

BayBoat no problem. Its a huge arse Lake. I was in a 16 Aluminum SeaArk and was a little nervous in the open water. Just stay in the boat lanes and hug them Pipes..

Given that the water is down a bit right now, DEFINITELY stay in the boat lanes. When outside of the boat lanes, proceed carefully and go to trolling motor as soon as convenient.

That they did, I usually have someone with me so I just nose up and back off and wait.
