I've had mine since the 80's and it's still my go-to, but I don't know if they "still make them like they used to".

I’m still throwing several All Stars that i bought in the mid to late 90’s. I’ve caught a fish or two with them.

Man, if you could find one, All Star WR-1, 6'6" is what I've been using for years. Will really be a bad day when I no longer have any...
Couldn’t agree more. Only difference is I preferred the slightly longer/heavier MWR1 which I believe was 6’8”. Broke an inch of the tip off years ago and recently got it new guides on it to convert it to a spinnerbait rod.

I have a few Daiwa Tatula Elite rods and really like them. The ones without the fancy guides are in the $180 range.
You could also get the standard Daiwa Tatula…think they are $150.

Seafoam is snake oil.
I'll even throw in the Amassedeur that everyone seems to hate.

If you were going to splurge for a rod, your tx rig or jig rod is a good choice to do it on. I run Kistler Heliums for that duty but the 7-7,3 medium heavy Kistler Argon for $99 is a great choice. The Kistler KLX is a step up and I think they are $149. They are 100% made and the owner has addressed any issues I’ve ever had personally. I got turned onto the years ago by Matt Herrin, buying some of his after the season was over. I’ve never looked back.
