Have a bachelor party at the Beau in January. Most of the group will be golfing Saturday morning but the non-golfers would like to maybe fish. I have heard that fishing at that time of year is not great - my question is it even worth it?

Is there any species we should target (don't care about eating anything more looking for action).

Does the OB have any opinion on fishing there this time of year or any charter suggestions?

TIA

Trout will be stacked up in the rivers/bayous. Can absolutely hammer the sheepshead/drum/reds along just about all of the bridges at that time, if so inclined.

I don't think it would be worth worrying about fishing during that time of year during a bachelor party if you are fishing from the beach or shore. If yall want to get a 1/2 day trip for inshore I highly recommend Coastal Water Outfitters in Biloxi.

Thanks for the info, only considering charters, no beach/shore fishing

plenty good fishing here in January. The trout will be in the deep holes but if you just wanting something that will stretch a line as was said before redfish and blackdrum will be all over the casino, piers, bridges harbors etc. Anywhere big structure is at they will be there too. If it happens to fall on some warmer days there is some good fishing on the islands too. Chandy is fantastic in the winter as are the other islands especially horn and ship. big schools of redfish and even a good many trout will be cruising the flats on all the warmer days.

Get a charter... be willing to drive a bit to BSL and meet up with Shore Thing Charters.

Run to BSL and hook up with Shore Thing Charter. Sometimes he launches out of Pass Christian too. Super good dude. I've fished with him a handful of times.

If they're booked, they can hook you up with one of several great guides out of Pass as well.
