Fishing Dularge on Saturday

I'm taking my wife out fishing in the DU this Saturday. I have not been fishing down there this time of the year before, can anyone point me in the right directions to try to find some fish? this is her first time spec or red fishing so im hoping i can find some to let her catch. Im not looking for anyone's honey holes or anything, just some general areas to try.

in the same boat here bud.... mouth of the canals and marshes that have moving water into the mechant or lost lake... a lot of people are using swim baits and cocahoes. Grab you some matrix shad if you can. best of luck!

The wind forecast has gotten worse. I saw a thread on LASM this am that you might want to look at as well. See you down there.

yeah i have some matrix shad. i have never fished around lost lake, so i didnt want to risk getting in an area and running out of water.
right now my plan is to launch at jugs around 630 or so then head down and cut back at the power lines and try some canals back in there. Maybe try the pass at sister lake. but other than that i normally head down to the gulf to fish during the summer, so i dont know any other spots to try in the marsh. If yall are launching at jugs ill be around there with me my wife and my 2 year old in an older proline center console. stop and say hi if you see me.

i almost choked when i saw you say jls is a genius. isnt that the guy who needs to know how you hold your tongue when you cast and what color boxers you wear?

yeah i posted over there also, but this site seems to be more friendly to helping people out with finding fishing areas than LASM. Not as many guides here is guess. Thanks for the info

Have any of yall had any luck with TKO shrimp? I got some that were on clearance for like $1.50 and was wondering if they actually catch fish.
