I plan on chasing specks Saturday morning.

Hopefully the cold will keep some of the Lake Decade armada at home

I have a theory ab specks and offshore during winters that are extremely cold and they seem to "disappear" (like last year)

weather? All day? Lots of variables come into play during that month span.. If we had a couple of 70 degree days.. I can absolutely see it... But those couple weeks where water doesn't rise above 55 degrees would be mighty hard.

My buddy and his dad go offshore for trout and hammer them.
Said the sizes are always bigger offshore.

Oh I know all about it. I did well during the day last year, but I heard about the night fishing. I'll probably give it a go over this break

Never kept track, just know we catch everytime we go and there's ice on the truck and boat when we launch sometimes.

No clue where that is.
Toledo Bend was our night fishing hotspot but the drought is killing us here.

I love fishing in Point Au Chen in the winter.
Right on Bayou Blue.
Just found another spot last year.
The new Sea Wall at Bayou Bienvenue.

The ice eventually melts...followed by a good day of fishing.

I like to fish during the week when the weekend warriors aren't:

Trolling where I'm casting.

Following me until i catch a fish then getting in front of me.

Making trips back and forth to the launch all day long and running where I'm drift fishing.

Trolling up to my boat to ask what am I catching on (complete strangers).

Game Warden/Sheriff stopping me to ask to see my freaking life jacket 2 days in a row.

This all happened last weekend.
