Went this morning. Caught nothing but hardheads. Tried every spot I could think of. Tidal flow was good and a helluva lot of bait, but no dice.

hardheads
Quit using bait. Srsly. I haven't used a live or dead bait for inshore fish in years. Lures hardly EVER catch hardheads...but it happens every now and then.

I need to get some more gulp baits, they work, I've only had one pack of the shrimp though. What colors/ kind work best?

Ever use that gulp bait that comes in jars?

Yeah I like the jar because you can recharge the bait by putting it back in the juice if its not torn apart. I like the shrimps in natural and molten colors. Also the shad and bull minos work well.

I have. I have no idea what I'm doing and caught reds doing that my first time ever in a yak. Loved it. Cannot wait to go back.

Cork, cast and retrieve, jig. Whatever the fishing hole calls for.

Only time I ever tried them was under a popping cork. It was a slow day though and we weren't catching on anything anymore by that point

I fish them just like a DOA. Had some good days with them. One thing about them is they are tough as all hell (better be for how much they cost). They are also very hard to put on a regular jig head.

Yeah, Gulp does catch em. I've never used gulps for trout though, and there aren't any/many hardheads in marsh ponds I would fish for reds.

As far as Gulps, I like the shrimp in "New Penny" for reds in ponds, and fish them on a flutter hook weedless...no cork.

I was throwing out jigs as well. Seems like they just weren't on today.

Those people don't give you shite for fishing in front of their camp? I might have to try it out next time.

Because they dry up and you will not be able to get them off, forgot to mention that.

They dry up, and they become one with the hook. If you have a blowtorch handy, you might be able to get it off the hook. If not, throw that hook away.

The only bag I have is in that color. Like a lot of times when I picked it I picked the color because it was the one with the least amount of bags left on the shelf
