Had been trying about 30 minutes a day on the golf course behind my house. Had not had a damn bite then today it just felt right. This guy nailed a short cast under a leaning palm tree on a tequila sunrise worm.

It was like a 10 foot toss under a tree hanging out over the water. Rained all day yesterday. Thought it may be to cold still but this is usually the time to start checking around here. Will definitely be motivated to go tomorrow. Had to get dinner going.

The ground is covered in pine straw and did not feel like sliming up.

Nope just had my rod and reel. May have to carry a pocket one from now on. I don’t want to exaggerate any fish stories but had to be 8.

helping a friend out that has a private lake on his place...we've been catching some absolute pigs. They have all been on beds so released. We are removing the small ones.

that's a beaut Tvilletiger...

Nice fish. Do not believe it would weigh 8 lbs. Could be wrong though.

Son caught one about 5lbs full of eggs in our family land pond, about 2 acres. Bream are mostly small but bass are good and healthy. I wondered if we should throw it back but kept and filet her, full of eggs.

Eta: I guess I’m not sure if it’s good to keep the bigger bass or not is why I mentioned that. Always heard in small ponds to keep as many bass as you can. To OP, very nice fish

This was a fairly large pond on the course with lots of little side inlets. We have them everywhere but I can get to this place in 30 secs on my bike. So after work sometimes mine to listen to sports talk on phone and cast a few. There honestly are unllimited places to do this in here. But this time of year is when I do it most.

Let me work on catching one of his friends and will give you an update on weight next time. This is a better pic of the full fish.

We have problems with too many little bass in our one at our farm. They eat each other.
