Feeding deer in Kansas
Posted by CalcasieuTiger on 3/19/23 at 4:34 pm00
Because there’s so much available food with all of the crops planted in the state, do locals or non residents with leases feed deer? If they do, are food plots the standard or do they throw protein pellets or other food?

Corn and protein feeders are very prominent in Kansas

This is on some private ground in Iowa. I hope this helps...
Deer TV
I have spent many hours watching some big bucks on this feeder.

I hadn’t been on enough private land to realize this. Good insight.

yes. Our place is leased by a well known land manager who host a lot of hunters we all see on tv. He is constantly battling with the guy that has the grazing lease because he wants to fence off areas to do plots and feeders

It’s so easy to pattern deer in Kansas that it really isn’t needed.
