A few weeks ago I asked about recs for sous vide or instapot brands thinking that I would get one of those for my father. Then his incubator went down so I was pricing those only to find out he has replaced it already.
Yesterday he told me what he wants is a cordless electric filet knife. I didn't even realizes these were actually a thing. Anybody have brand recs? I don't think price will be an option based on what i have seen so far.

In my limited experience with cordless knives they don't hold up to big fish. If you clean a lot of redfish I would stick with plugged in power. I haven't tried one in about 5 years but before that my in laws tried several for me and none held up.

what kind of fish he cleans most often is a must before any recommendation can be given.

A man should clean his own fish and light his own grill.

I agree with this but there are circumstances where cleaning fish for someone else is acceptable.
There's a couple local old timers that have stove up hands from the arthritis that run trotlines fairly often and I fillet their catch for them in exchange for a small cut of the fillets. These are guys in their 80s that literally just can't do it any more. To me, a couple hours of processing catfish is worth a few quart sized bags of fillets.

*A fisherman can never have too many fillet knives. I have them in all shapes and sizes. Each one has a use
