I am going to be working around False River next week and was thinking of trying the bass fishing out after work. Soft plastics around the docks? I usually fish bayous so this will be a little different for me.

Yep, pretty much, might bang spinnerbaits off the legs too. Guy i work with just moved up there, he's been catching 3-4 a trip.

ETA-Slow start this am, he switched to a crankbait around 9 and had 3 less than 20 minutes.

Red Shad Worms and Chartreuse Pepper Lizards are my go-to's for bank/pier fishing. Dark Worms will likely be the better choice if you're going after work when the sun is starting to set. Lizards usually suit me better when Spring is in full effect. Can't go wrong with Zoom or Culprit brand. Since the weather is still a bit chilly, you might benefit from putting a heavier weight and letting your lure sink low. Slow and steady reel with a couple of jerks in between. Bass this time of the year usually hit your lure as it sinks from your jerks. As it starts to warm up, feel free to graduate up to craws. Fish are usually lethargic during colder temperatures, so you might have a fish on and not even know it. Happy catching!

Bandit deep diving crankbaits white or shad has always been good. You want to bump the pier pylons. Shadraps too!
