If you plan on keeping the truck for a long time, go with the 5.0. The main issue with the 2.7, 3.5, and 3.7 is that the timing chain stretches beyond what the tensioners can handle. It wouldn't be as much as issue if it wasn't for the fact that it is a much more involved repair than the 5.0

Doesn't matter it's a Ford.

The 3.5L V6 is the flagship engine.

whatever you get, get the bigger gas tank, I lucked into one on a used 18 5.0 and before my dash got thrown off from tires and level it was showing ~730 miles til empty on a full tank. Now it shows around 620, even still its a lot better than having to fill up every 300 miles.

2016 V8 is what I have . No issues, just gas and go. Regular maintenance

I have a 2018 2.7 75k miles and has been a great truck UNTIL my engine light came on last week. Apparently I need to replace the cat converter (according to Ford dealership and autozone) National back order on catalytic converters for that truck. It’s under warranty until 80k miles but doesn’t give me confidence in longevity.
Put some Cataclean in it and the light went off.

Thats terrible and a burnt up cat is typically the result of something like a failed O2 sensor or something causing overfueling.

2019 3.5 v6 here. I am getting about 19 mph combined use according to the computer. It feels like I’m driving on air. Response and pick up is outstanding. Test drive the same truck with the 2.7 and I just liked the response better with the 3.5 and do some light towing from time to time and wanted that extra assurance of performance with the bigger 3.5 in that regard
