The 5.0 is a little more Will be pulling a boat couple times a month

Doesn’t look like the fuel economy is much different

Which one?

I have the v8 and tow , I like it a lot. A buddy has the 2.7 and likes his truck. Wish I had some more for you here, but I don't.

Get the 3.5. I have it. Noticable difference to the v8.

On paper I like the 2.7 alot. I feel like it's a good fit for a half ton truck.

We have a 2013 5.0 with towing package.

Tows our 2-horse trailer pretty well.

Mileage around town is ~17. On highway at over 70 is 17 or lower. sweet spot is probably around 60 for mileage.

Sounds great.

No issues so far at ~90k miles.

You get worse mileage on the highway?

My wife has an expedition max with this motor and I love it a lot more than I thought I would.

BIL has the V6 and pulls a trailer every day for work. Loves it. Co-worker had some transmission problems with his V6.

My wife has a 2019 F150 with the 5.0
It has plenty of power and gets 18-20 local depending on how you drive it. I can get 21-22 on the highway using the Eco mode. It has a 10 speed and so far no issues. We pull a 16 ft utility trailer with a UTV and couple four wheelers on it. No issues at all. Hers is the STX package 4wd crew cab.

My brother and I both have the 2.7, and have had no issues. Very very peppy and although I don't tow much with it, it has pulled anything I've hooked it to. Have had to pull out several truck in ditches, etc. Not sure about my mileage, because my dash probably isn't accurate after the leveling kit and 34" Falkens.

I have a 2017 with the 5.0, FX4. Averaging about 18.5 mpg. Mostly highway with some occasional city traffic. It's been the best truck I've ever owned and I love it. Plenty enough power for the towing and hauling I do. Which is mostly my boat or hauling a load of dirt in the bed.

My brother has a 2019 with the 3.5 V6 and it has plenty of power. I'd have no problem with owning the 3.5. I'm not sure what kind of mpg he's getting.

AT 75-80MPH, i get barely 17. at 60ish I get 18-19

I should also add, our is the FX-4 Off-Road model - so more weight and drivetrain

I have a 2020 with the 2.7. I drive a lot of highway miles on my commute. If I’m careful, it’s not difficult to average better than 25 mpg. I’ve gotten it over 26 a few times. To me that’s pretty incredible especially coming from my Frontier with a v6 that I was lucky to get 17 from.

Next one I get I’d like to have the 3.5 just for the extra towing capacity. I wasn’t planning on buying my current one but the deer I hit had other ideas.

I have a 2013 with the 5.0. Pull a 22 ft boat with no issues and have not had any issues; 144,000 miles on it. Mileage on the hwy is around 21, local driving about 17. Looking at a new one for the wife to drive, probably will go with the 3.5. FIL has one and he gets upwards of 23 mpg driving locally.

If you go with the Eco Boost, go with the 3.5. Pulls way better than the 5.0. I can’t comment on the 2.7. But if the 2.7 and 3.5 are in the same price range, I’d go 3.5.

'15 with 5.0

Love it. I put 35x11.5x20, so obviously mpg suffers. Probably around 16 mixed. I have a heavy foot and don't drive it often. Tows what I hook it to.

Unknown is the 10 speed transmission (mine is 6). I heard rumors of there being issues (or quirks) with the 5.0 / 10 speed tranny. Not sure how true that is, but something I'd research before buying one.
