So today I'm going pick up some cedar from a guy. Looking to build a table for my grill. What would be a good sealer that will go on clear? I plan on getting some kind of cover for it but I'd like to seal it as well.

Red Cedar, I would NEVER seal it. Use some linseed oil on it. Treat it once a year. It will outlast the pit.

I was hoping you’d comment fish. I’ll do that. Thanks!
And like I said it will be covered unless in use or company is over. I don’t want the color to fade.

That oil will take care of it. Cedar has a lot of oil in it already. Look for all red and try not to get any with white showing. That white area is sap wood and those sections can rot fast. It doesn't have the oil protection as heart wood.

Didn't know the sap wood wasn't rot resistant, thanks . I'll just use the boards with sap wood for a chest or something.
