not at all I was just giving a report out of JB.

Today was a little slower wind picked up about 8am.

ended with a nice 3 man limit of mostly gadwall.

Overall Southwest LA reports are better than last years reports at this time sooooo

limits return to 4 or 5 birds daily at some point

I wouldn't mind them going back to a 3 bird limit like it was in the late 80's. You want to talk about cull out the flat bills. Problem is, duck hunting has turned into such an economic cash cow from hunting leases, equipment, duck stamp revenue, etc.. that if hunters started dropping like flies, that revenue stream would evaporate.

the days will also drop if they drop the limit.. since seasons and limits have been in play - this is the longest run of liberal seasons/limits.

So the answer to this is not letting the birds get comfortable when they first get down here and keeping constant pressure on them?

The best spots in South LA have been the best spots for a long time but the guys who have those spots have resting areas/days so the birds can get comfortable

I don't know the answer. The origin of my question is based on the idea that the birds aren't gonna do the same thing they always do if it gets them killed. I'm asking if the lower number of ducks in Louisiana now is a result of a natural occurrence and not the "fault" of any group or their actions.

maybe a shift in flyways is gonna happen no matter what?

Decent hunts in Delacroix saturday and sunday but reports overall were pretty slow, some even did not shoot.

Grays/mottled/spoon/dosgris in blind saturday, grays/mottled/teal only on Sunday, let the dogs pass.

Back at them Thurs and Fri this week.

A friend used to flood a section of rice field about an inch deep as a resting area adjacent to where he hunted. This was for that very reason and even guys who took 2 boxes of shells to get their limit got a limit of ducks by 7AM, then a limit of specs.
