Does anyone here use a yardchicken plucker for ducks? My dad wants one and I don't want to waste 500 dollars on something that won't work on ducks with bb holes in the skin.

Back in the mid/late 70s when we were killing more ducks in a weekend than you may drop all season now, we made our on plucker. It looked a lot like this. Took a few tries to get the pulleys right for the correct speed but once we got that down, it worked great. Buddy in our group found the "fingers" at a poultry processing plant ... before this thing called google. Ours had more fingers per row. Best I remember, 6 on one row and 5 on the next. I do remember it worked much better on dry feathers and you still had to finger pluck any pin feathers.

Dads friend had one made of surgical tubing.

Biggest tip I recall was - don’t let it hit your finger. You only did that once.
