I have a few weeks off during hunting season and make a lot of hunts during the week. If the ducks are there, it's nice having another person to knock them down with. If not, it's easier to get 6 than 12. I will go no matter what, but it is safer with someone else.

I'm hunt alone pretty much all the time. Not because I prefer it but cause I don't have any friends.

I’ve been solo 4 or 5 times in the last year. It’s awesome especially if you have a dog. Relax with the peace and quiet, pick your own shots, take your time. My lease is also a 15 minute boat ride from my camp so it’s really easy to just get up and go.

. Me, too. I spent my best yrs basically guiding for friends. Calling, fetching birds, setting decoys, driving, etc. shite got old. I go for the solitude these days, when I have time, ducks are lagniappe. I really enjoy not seeing another human when I'm out.

Exactly, I never took money but treated guests like client, watched, called, chased cripples and tried to keep from getting shot sometimes.

I loved it and still do, but it’s nice to do my own thing when the opportunity presents.

Once I got my own boat and dog I became many peoples buddy they duck hunt with. I love it. I put a lot of time and effort finding birds on public land and enjoy bringing people on good hunts. I've got close family that hunts with me a bunch too so I've pretty much always have another hunter or 3.

So far this season I've made 16 hunts. All but the last 2 were with people. I've got a couple local spots I know I can kill a few wood ducks and the occasional teal or big duck. It's nice just me and my dog. Maybe it's because I love my dog so much?, but my solo hunts I look forward to more than the hunts with my best buddies.

No long boat rides solo... only 4 wheeler access or walkin solo for me
