The most important part that you left out is to always bring an overachieving, marathon running, physical freak, Marine with you to drag your kills out. 
It can be hell dragging the deer out. They tend to get caught up on every cypress knee and you'll step in every hole along the way. I couldn't imagine dragging a big swamp donkey out of there by myself.

I've had that happen before too. Almost as bad as creeping in before daylight and having an owl take off out of the tree you're climbing up.

I've had the sun start to come up and be looking around and suddenly notice an owl in a tree 20 yards away at eye level staring at me. Freaks you the frick out
