Anybody hunted around DFW since opening weekend? I have been out several times the past couple of weeks near Denton and the birds are sparse. Any reports of a decent amount of birds within an hour so from the metroplex?

I am headed to South Texas for the opener this weekend. I talked with the outfitter today and he said that his contacts around Dallas and Houston have lost most if not all of their birds since the opener. I was told they were loaded. I will cross my fingers that the birds stay through the weekend...

Unfortunately I'm hearing the same. I went Saturday just outside of Saginaw (north of FW) and there were scattered birds, they stayed high and fast, not coming into any mojo's.

Good luck in South Texas. If I wasn't headed to Denver for the Texans/Broncos game, I would be down there as well.
