Do you use a safety harness when hunting in a tree stand?

If you do, what kind? I'm looking into them now, and wanted to know what a good one is. Are they worth the money, or should I just tie a rope around and just pray that I don't fall?

Yeah, but it seems like life insurance.. You don't need it until you're dead..

get yer sorry arse down to the store and get you a vest or at least a belt... I'm serious man, the one time you do need it, may be the last... 150 is not that much to keep you from being in a wheelchair or more...

Is my sarcasm meter broken? I hope so....

I don't know. It's just the one I have. I like that it is comfortable. Has lots of pockets. And reversible with hunter's orange on the outside for gun season.

Nah im serious. In comparison to all the money ive wasted on dumb shite I should buy one but if I walk in an outdoors type store with the money to spend on a vest its pretty good chance i'll buy a new reel or something else. Stupid, I know

I guess I'll have to dish out the cash to get one then..

I'm trying to be a baller on a budget, but this hunting shite keeps getting in the way!

I would hope most do. Seems pretty ignorant not to especially if you have kids and/or hunt frequently.

same one i have... mines a bit older, one of the first versions that don't reverse...
the vest system is easier to put on before daylight than the harnesses... at least for me.. just put it on, walk in, before getting in climber, hook the leg straps..

I actually don't wear my harness while hunting in a ladder stand. Most are not that high, and if you secure them right, they shouldn't go anywhere.

now if you are hunting in some 1950s version with no railing, then yes, wear one

so, what's your point? is your head, neck, back vertebrae strong enough to take a 15 fall, landing in the wrong way? 25 ft. in a climber or 15 ft off a ladder, bad is bad..
