I agree with that.

a biologist came out and told them to shoot 70 does a year for the next 3 years and then reassess. on 1700 acres with 10 guys, we havent come close to doing that.
Same thing was told to the neighbor that has 1700 that borders my MIL. Only problem is he has done this every year only along one border of his property (the border that borders my MIL) so he won't disturb the rest of his property. As a result game cams in September will show 9 2 year old bucks but not a single doe. Come rut bucks have to leave to find a doe.

Every piece of property is different and I'm not saying what works for one would work for all. In reality I don't like blanket type regs because of that. My point about shooting less does is because deer numbers here have declined. More importantly, hunter numbers are up and habitat is down

Im with you there. We have the problem of too many does and the bucks not having to chase much at all. We have another 300ac not far from the big tract and we have a much better ratio. We see much better bucks and bucks really chasing hard here. The 8 point I shot this year was one of 4 bucks(2 shooters) chasing 1 done when I shot him.

Working well here. I'm seeing more and bigger bucks than ever.
