Caught em in a west wind and also sucked in a west wind. Lots of variables.

Screw wind direction. I’m more interested in tides, wind speed, rain forecast.

Only exception is if you have a decent breeze fighting the tide. As far as wind direction goes, I just adjust how I’ll Fish a particular spot.

My ex had family that were Delacroix people for many generations - I’m talking generations going waaaaaayyyy back. Commercial fishermen who lived off the land. The old man always said, “West wind blow, don’t go.”

There used to be this old barn off of old hwy. 111 west of Anacoco that used to hold bout fifty cats. Some days they would be laying on the roof, some days, not. Seemed if they were out, good fishing on Toledo Bend, if they were in it sucked.
