Any ideas on pricing to get dirt work done to build up an area to build a house?

Don't cut corners on the pad, it's THE foundation.

obviously I need more information than I have right now, wasn't sure if there was an avg. price per foot or something I could estimate by.

we are in the very early stages of planning and I was trying to get some kind of numbers to estimate it.

Where Im building is a low area so I would think 2 maybe 3 feet up is how much we have to go, now square footage isnt settled yet as we are still looking at plans.

I'm having some done myself for a camp. Prices ranging from $150-$200/hour

Is that including dirt or are you using dirt already on property?

Get it tested. Might look compacted and correct but at least getting it tested will let you know 100% that it is done correctly.

for compacted select fill at approximately 2.5-3' you are looking at about $8-10 per sf of house and garage slab. So if you are in that 3000 sf you are looking at around $24k. Depends on a lot of factors but that in the ballpark.

This could make it be more dirt needed then what your thinking. If it's low, or if the ground is moist they will likely have to muck out more to get to good firm dirt. Don't rush it. Let the ground dry. I know in my area it's about $ 175 trailer truck load of red dirt.

If you paid anywhere near that I am very sorry I did not know a fool and his money were ready to be seperated.

OP there is zero way to answer your question without a bit more info, the most important one being location, the distance the dirt and equipment must be hauled and any restrictions can move these numbers around a great deal.
