So Im new to the AR world. Was gonna buy a couple over the next year to hand down to the boys later on. I think I might go ahead and pick them up a couple bushmasters and get me something nicer later on, if I still can. Heres my question... Are all parts interchangable between these things for the most part? If not, what are some brands that are? And finally, whats the most important parts to have spares of, lowers, barrels? TIA

All of the parts are interchangeable. The AR15 is a very diverse platform that allows for a lot of mods. You will occasionally have a fitment issue where something is a bit tight or a bit loose, but those can be fixed.
Most important thing to stockpile would be stripped lowers, because, technically, they are the "guns." Everything else can be bought and shipped to your house instead of an FFL.

my dads friend is looking at getting me 2 or 3 sometime soon when he finds a good deal.
I assumed that if they ban assualt rifles the part they are really banning is the lowers since that the only part you need an FFL to purchase.

The difference is the MAGPUL is out of stock and the regular magazines aren't.
