Called multiple diesel mechanics including family all say fuel system fricked, they all said insurance will cover it.

I thought insurance never covered breakdowns an mechanical issues
Had to make a Montero into a boat one time because the engine was blown.
*totally accidental of course

Insurance MAY cover it. Take it to a dealership for an estimate on replacing entire fuel system, $10k sounds a little high. And then take it to your agent. I've seen it go both ways.

$10k is going standard rate for a complete fuel system on a Ford 6.7
Sending DEF (which is mostly water and corrosive as hell) through the fuel system will wipe the entire thing out.
The truck should have "water in fuel" detection and seperation and should light the dash up when it detects water and keep it separated at least till the seperator fills up. Your only argument is that the truck did not display a fault, indicating a malfunction with the WIF sensor.
At the end of the day, somebody put something other than fuel in the fuel tank. It's hard to put the fault elsewhere.

it will be ok. Need tank emptied, flushed. The fuel separator will catch it all. As long as none makes it to the high pressure pump or injectors you will be ok. If you don't have anyone to take it to nearby then i can recommend a place in Walker ,LA that can take care of this for you.

tell you what. Call 225-667-4111 and ask to speak with Terry. Tell them their friend from the internet told you to ask for him directly. She will get him on the phone for you. He'll tell you what's up.

State Farm covers negligence for $10k?
I don't believe that.

Well they do, but I'm sure they will soon stop covering it.
Posted on 10/19/16 at 2:06 pm to meauxjeaux2
Insurance will only cover if it is brought to a ford dealership..
Posted on 10/19/16 at 2:07 pm to DownshiftAndFloorIt
Also cover if you pump gas into the diesel
