I'm basically the only full time hunter on 1500 acres and I would be hard pressed to pass that up. I've passed on bigger but I'm in a very unique situation. He is a good looking 3 year old. Shoot him on sight.

I thought it gave good perspective. It was a subtle brag but contributed to the discussion.

I’d let him walk if my freezer is full. Like you said, the 10-pt is/was the prize. This fella looks 2.5-3.5 years old. He’ll be a nice buck next year.
25 acres changes things though, but depends on how much hunting is done around you. I’d let one of the kids shoot him if he comes out for them. But I’d like to see him early next year.

Our place is only 25 acres.
No such thing as a 1 and a 2.on 25 acres. Shoot that deer and be very thankful

Not trying to be an arse at all. Just trying to add perspective, in the last 5 years I've had 2 target bucks poached and 1 killed on neighbors property. If I can't assure deer make it through from hunters much less nature then he will be hard pressed to on 25 acres.
I dont know his hunting history but most hunters in the south should take that deer. If he is surrounded by unhunted ground or highly disciplined managers maybe let it walk. But 6 years ago I was hunting 20 acres shared with another hunter, I would only have let that deer walk long enough to turn broadside.
