k acres is a lot of land so i feel like you have some leverage with it but then again not really
Our place and our surrounding neighbors regularly if not always are getting pictures of “their” or “our” bucks up to 1.5 miles away. We are lucky that everyone is pretty much on the same page and are not brown down hunting.

Not a chance. You could maybe do some good if you were feeding on the whole 2k, throwing major $$ at it for at least 5 years.

If you like throwing money on the ground, sure. 1 protein feeder on a part of 2k acres won’t change the deer antlers or body weights. You will probably attract some deer and bucks will use it during velvet.

Supplementing free range deer in studies, helps the overall deer herd and increases carrying capacity, but it doesn’t increase horn growth with any significance. So, increase health and numbers, but no increase in horn growth. Now, if you can confine that deer, and limit the number of mouths at that feeder, then you can affect horn growth substantially, but not in free range deer, where all the deer have access to that feeder…

Please, please, please start a thread with this as the title. We haven't had a good "dog hunting is trashy" thread in awhile and the new posters need to see one.
And they're off....

If you are trying to just hold some deer close, I’d have year around plots there. It’ll keep deer around but won’t really change bucks much. They going where the pussy goes though

Plant foodplots of white and crimson clover. Perennial seeds

I’d consider putting that money toward a new lease or land purchase if your goal is to manage quality bucks.
