I don't know about drinking, but just pop an adderall and you will hunt all day.

If im sitting in a box blind, i usually bring a couple beers with me, maybe even a bottle of wine. If im bow hunting, ill usually just have a flask of bourbon. No room for beer cans on my climber.

On private land I will take a few beers with me. For what other reason would Filson put all those pockets on my coat?

I don't, but mainly cause I like that first cold one when I get back to the stand. Plus, if I start drinking beer in the stand I will be pissing every 10 minutes. the joys of being diabetic.

Threads like these make me wonder how many people here actually know much about private land hunting/ hunting clubs. Seems like there are lots who just read about hunting and maybe go bombard a WMA a couple times a year. If you're a grown man and can't sit in a box stand and sip a few cold ones, or sit on a dove stool and sip a few cold ones, without endangering yourself or others than I agree that you shouldn't do it. Leave it to those who can.

Have hunted nothing but private land the last 15 years and owned it for 10 compete with beautiful camp. Don't drink and hunt and wouldn't let others if they asked.

You might be fine with it, but where is that line and who draws it? Also stuff happens. When whatever it is that happens (you fall getting out of stand, bad shot placement on big buck, accident, etc) you don't want the phrase "and he had been drinking" associated with whatever happened.

on Saturday evenings I usually take my 32oz Ozark trail cup filled with whiskey and ice and check football scores on my phone. Sometimes if I'm with my GF i'll bring a cooler with bloody mary fixens and we'll drink a few of those.

I've always hunted private land. I agree with the other poster drinking 4-5 beers over a 4 hour stretch is hardly endangering anyone.

No you can't compare them

So you don't get in a vehicle at dark and drive home after you have been drinking all day in the stand, just because you aren't driving and having a beer your reaction time is still impaired especially at night.

Personally I don't - lots of time to drink beer when you don't have a rifle in your hands or a drive to make after the hunt.

I was against it until I was for it. I skip beer and bring a small bourbon flask because it trasports easier when you walk in.

No. Depending on where I am
I will ride my 4wheeler to the camp or I go home which consist of opening a gate. If I hunt somewhere that requires getting in my truck and driving more than across a pasture I'm not drinking.

Generally I never drink with a rifle in my hand. Usually it's leaned up in the corner of a box stand just in case that shot of a life time walks out. Usually on those evenings I'm just kicked back drinking a few cold ones and watching wildlife
