Hell yeah. That's a beautiful pup. I shipped my lab gyp off to a trainer so she missed the few good blood trails I put down this year. I hope she's able to pick it up quick next year.

Not too much of a story behind the bear.

But this is our first year up in Arkansas where bear is legal game. My nephew is the one who killed the bear with his bow. Scary part is that while he was climbing into his lock-on he could hear the bear crunching away at the feed only 20 yards away. Bears walk around with no fear over there.

Apparently the need for dogs to track bears is pretty big because bears don’t leave much of a blood trail because of the fat clogging up the wound and the long hair. We killed 2 on our lease this year and both times we just had to walk up on them in the direction they ran. Only blood was at initial shot site.

My dad had blue tick coon dogs when I was a kid, man they are great.
