Almost every season in Illinios. One of my favorite times to hunt. Find a food source, get in the stand around noon and stay as long as you can take it or kill out.

I always see lots of deer.

Jan of 2017 (I think) was cold as all get out one weekend in MS. Was well below freezing when I left the coast and dropping all the way up. Had to put my shoulder into door to get it open when we got to the camp. Ice all over my truck. Took almost twice as long to get there due to icy and closed roads. Froze my arse off and didn't kill. Wife killed her biggest buck to date.
I love having to bust ice to put out decoys. Those have been some of my best mornings.

Deer in the south freak out when it snows/ice and gets super cold.....hunt before and after the storm and I gaurantee success.

So before the weather had a good one showing up in daylight, i could not get up there to hunt him.
Last 2 days not much movement. So i will report back if they show up this afternoon. I am curious to see what happens

Man I hunted all day Saturday and Sunday evening with no sightings. Not saying they weren’t moving elsewhere but I was shocked to not see anything.
