When all the water goes down here on the Sabine River, you'll be able to to use a dipnet and catch as many sacks as you want. Not kidding.

as a teenager (early 80's) I use to catch igloos full of crawfish in the Bonnet Carre Spillway and along I-10 near the Pearl River WMA. Melt was our bait of choice with the square net trap

been many moons ago as I have no clue if you need a license or not to catch wild crawfish today.

I Saw a few people Sunday on Airline Hwy between interstate 10 and St. James boat Club. It's in the WMA and you should be able to catch some there.

Sherburne WMA has a crawfishing area on the south farm...

Sherburne
• Recreational crawfishing is permitted from March 15 - July 31 with a limit of 100
pounds per person per day. No traps or nets are to be left overnight.
• No motorized watercrafts are allowed on the farm complex.

It's a nice sized walk from the parking lot to the pond, especially with all of the gear. Just an FYI
