Search doesn't seem to be working. Heading to Florida and bringing a few ice chests of crawfish I picked up today. Yall just cracking a hole at the bottom and putting the ice on top of the sacks? Or setting the sacks down on the ice

Crack the lid and leave the plug open. Ice on top the crawfish. Made this trip several times for 8 hour drive to tx.

Typically put bag on top of sack and tilt ice chest a little so it drains better. And crack the lid open

As long as they aren’t sitting in melted ice water they will be fine. I’ve I kept them 4 days like this with maybe 10-20 dead in the sack.

Thats what I do, and it was told to me by people working at the seafood store. Though I’ve only done it overnight at the house for about 18 hours at most.

I do this with a wet towel between the ice and crawfish.

Fill a few 1 or 2 liters with water and freeze them. Put them on bottom. Ice on top with the wet towel in-between as mentioned above. Crack ice chest and leave plug open.

Put an old beach towel, or burlap sack on top and keep it wet, with a sack of uce on top of that. Important to keep them wet. But not drowning.
