the wife wants to go crabbing soon. she has never been so i want her first time hopefully to be productive. i havent done so in many years and mostly sw Louisiana. Anyone have recommendations that would be within an hour or or two drive from the new Orleans area? would be from the bank with simple ring style nets.

are crabs running well now?

thanks guys

Just go to Grand Isle or Elmer's island if you are leaving from NOLA. There are other places closer but most you need boat access to get to the really good areas. So much has been fenced in and blocked off in my lifetime.

My friend was trawling on the beach of elmers island 2 nights ago and quit after 2 pickups cause he was catching so many crabs. I would go there or Grand isle.

Island road. And you can catch on the road going to the launch. You will see a shite ton of spots.

Exactly why I haven’t driven down there. Trying to keep the trips to a minimum.

Manchac Pass...off the old bridge with crab nets or string with chicken. Can also use catfish heads for bait.
