I take my family crabbing from the boat in Louisiana waters off Sabine lake. (Not the shared waters) I see that this year everyone without a fishing license needs Hook and Line $5 license to crab with string and dip net. Does anyone know where to purchase these? I've been all over the Ldwf website and can't find this $5 license, and i call the number and of course I get a recording "too busy for your call" . I keep a nonresident fishing license for myself every year, but wife and kids just need this crabbing license. Actually, the kids may not need anything until 18. Thanks for any help.

Go to wlf website, hit the menu up top.
-Licenses, permits, tags
-Recreational Fishing Licenses and Permits
-“Buy a license” tab
Enter your wlf info and it’s right there for the purchasing.

Thanks, I just got someone on the phone. That license is not available for nonresidents, therefore not visible to us. . So I will just have to buy my wife the nonresident fishing license, even though she only crabs.

$5 for all the crabs you can catch is a pretty sweet deal.
