These "shoot anything that moves" rednecks are the assf%ckers who give hunters and hunting a bad name.

I did shoot a bobcat once. Pretty thing. But I knew i wasn't breaking any laws. Not sure I would do it again though.

I'm shooting all predators on my land. I don't want them there.

My, aren't you tough!
Has nothing to do with being tough, dumb arse.
I didnt saw I was going to wrestle it and choke it out... Its my opinion. What about the other people who said they would shoot it? Go jump their arse too.

how bout you go kill yourself then, predators help maintain healthy herds.
there's enough rednecks around me who shoot anything that moves, so if im not threatened i always let them walk. i enjoy watching coyotes and bobcats, and its always enjoyable watching wildlife to learn what i can about them

Had a friend in Montana who had one stalk him for two hours while he was bowhunting.

I have seen an alligator once while I was in the deer stand. Scared me to death to think I had to wade out, but I didn't shoot him. I would do the same thing with a cougar. No reason to shoot him unless he started moving your way. Let him walk and appreciate you just saw a ghost.

I had a black bear come underneath me in a WMA in LA one time. I left my tree climber out there overnight on the tree, and the bear tore the shite out of my seat during the night. I didn't know what the hell it was in the morning when i got there. Sure enough a few hours later, the bear came walking through the rough straight ahead of me. He stopped about 15 yards away from me underneath me, looked at me and kept on going. I was scared shitless nervous.

How bout I do whatever I want on my land, you worry about your own.

For all those saying they would shoot it no matter what, this is alot of people may never get the chance to see and appreciate one in person. If I saw it I would try and get a few pics, but shooting it wouldn't cross my mind.

Because owning land doesn't give you the right to shoot anything that's on it.

Heres a predicament:
What if someone has cougars or bobcats attacking their cattle?
Is it still illegal to shoot them?
A friend was missing 12 head of cattle and 2 cougars have been spotted on his land.
Can he not shoot them to protect his livelihood?

I fricking know this. I simply do not kill critters for the sake of killing them. You can kill all you want. Question is, whatcha gonna do with em.

First off, there is no "breeding population" of cougars in Louisiana. There are a few isolated ones, but with the number of trail cameras out in the woods there should be all kinds of pictures of them. Most of the cougars in Louisiana were released by people who brought them in from out of state and tried to keep them as pets. And please, no one start up the whole "I saw a black panther".
Secondly, who in their right mind would shoot an animal that isn't threating you? Personally, I don't shoot anything I don't eat. More importantly, I would have a hard time killing an animal that I know is extremely rare in this area.
