Like I said in an earlier post, you can save a few hundred dollars if you can wait to buy on Black Friday. Tackle Warehouse offers a 20% off coupon and I got my 10' Powerpole Blade and Bracket shipped for $1750. Even if you can't wait that long, you can buy a 10' Blade from them for $100 less than your original quote and get the bracket for about $125 less than your original quote. Free shipping and no tax.
Powerpole Blade
Powerpole Bracket
I couldn't really see jack plate in your pictures. Do you plan to attach it directly to the transom? If so, you do not need a bracket.

I was coming to post this. Installation might be more difficult without a jackplate.

good point, I wouldn't want that thing attached directly to my transom

I think your options will be limited without a jackplate and the trim tabs on the back of the boat. I have mine attached to the jackplate and it is at an angle to take into consideration the movement of the engine.

That looks pretty interesting. How sturdy is it?
VERY!!! The only issues that I've had with the Stick It and I've had this for over 2 years are: IF you drop it in the water it doesn't float so I tied some very small diameter cord around the top near the handle so I can retrieve it if I drop it (I haven't yet) and if the bottom of the lake or river is really hard, you will have trouble "sticking it" but rarely has this happened and I generally find a "soft" spot close to where I want to fish.
Like I said in my 1st post, the Power Pole is more convenient; you push a button and it sets itself where with this it's manual but you're only talking about a minute or so. Also you need to find out where to "store" it. I have mine running along the inside of my boat under the gunwale; it's out of the way and safe.

Since I will have a guy installing. I am buying from Academy, but may order from there to avoid tax.
His boat does not have a jackplate nor does his have trim tabs, so two brackets are needed to attach the 10' blade to the motor mount and cost is ~$325 . For the 8' blade only one bracket is needed at a cost of $170.
Brackets for 10' powerpole:
Motor to Side Mount Adapter ($129.95)
Braced Side Mount ($195)
Bracket for 8' powerpole:
Btwn Motor/Transom Adapter ($169.95)

Storage wouldn't be an issue, my concern was areas with harder bottoms, but I guess if it's sturdy, that's not that big of a deal

You may want to contact Powerpole before making a purchase. It was my understanding that Powerpole only recommends the 10' Powerpole to be installed directly to the transom or to the jack plate. I'm not sure the motor to side mount adapter is approved to be used with a 10' powerpole.

That is where I got the information on these brackets.

I can't think of any areas that i have fished that has a hard bottom, unless around oyster reefs, but as a rule, i use a trolling motor for that situation
