Anyone ever buy something from an auction like copart to fix it up and flip? Thinking something like a jet ski would be a good place to start without having too much money into it. Might even be something I keep instead of sell.

i have bought and sold both through copart. it can be pretty good, but watch out, copart will tear your head off with fees. sometimes by the time you pay all that you haven't got such a good deal after all

Things bring more money than you think and fees are high

Good luck. Might as well go buy one off a dealer lot. Mexicans and Sandies are running them up sky high, worst I've seen including after Houston flood.

Anything that seems like a deal isn't, the real damage is easy to see for a buyer but invisible to an amateur. Copart doesn't list the seller, so all the rebuilders who ran into an unforeseen problem on a repair will fluff em and run them back through there. i.e. bad frame, bad engine on a wreck, electrical on a wreck.

Copart is where cars that look easy to fix but have a thousand issues that can’t be seen go to be sold. Don’t buy from there without having a really experienced buyer help you out at first.

Buy off of the FB Marketplace baw. No fees and there are some great deals out there. Having the ability and knowledge to repair simple things that the average dumbass doesn't have a clue of how to do is a great asset to have.
