My 65 qt Cater Gator has been awesome. I put it through hell and it's one of the cheapest from the online restaurant store.

I’m finally gonna break down and buy a rotomolded cooler.

Do you have an idea of what you would be using it for? Some are better than others for different purposes. Dimensions are a big factor and if you plan on moving it around alot a big arse roto molded cooler can be a pain in the arse. Yeti, Kysek, and some others have added wheels to some if you think you might be walking around with it a lot.

I recently got a RTIC ultra light cooler and like it. Priced well. I don't think it would hold ice as long as some of the heavier ones but still longer than I would need.

I've been waiting for someone to figure out this slice of the market. I don't care if a cooler keeps ice for 5 days, but I do care if it has actual handles that won't break and real hinges instead of plastic tab, and a drain plug that doesn't slowly leak. Give me the ruggedness, but make it lighter at the expense of ice retention. 99% of the time I just need it to keep for a day; 2 at the most.

It's a smaller size and lighter so easy to load and unload on boat and is rigid enough to use on the bow if sight fishing

I would seriously consider the 12v fridge mentioned earlier if ice retention is really what you want. A super expensive rotomolded cooler won’t keep ice any better than a Coleman 316 if you are opening it with any frequency. The rotos are super heavy too.

That’s pretty much K2 Coolers. They’re lighter than the Yetis and still hold ice for a good while.

I looked at their website when I recently bought a 22 size, but they don't publish their weights.
