I usually carry a ISWB behind the back. There are a variety of holsters that can accomplish this. It doesn't have to be fancy.

I like carrying behind the back except in a vehicle. It seems really uncomfortable. Again I haven't carried bc i'm waiting on my permit. Iv only messed around at the house trying different places to carry.

I can see how it would be uncomfortable depending on the persons body type and the type of weapon.
I generally care a Glock 27. Fits nicely in the small of my back. You'll have to try a few different ways to see what works for you. Additionally I like the accessibility of wearing it behind my back in the event that I would need it.

What brand of ISWB holster do you have? I've got a Glock 36 with a Blackhawk ISWB holster and it's not comfortable at all. Looking for a good alternative.

I haven't tried the Glock 36. Isn't it a little bigger. Guess it shouldnt be that much of a difference. The 27 is still a fairly large gun for a compact.
I use a cheap arse uncle mikes. Think it is a sidekick or something like that. There's not much to it. It's like a piece of cloth with a clip on the side. There is no retention strap or buckle.
I usually wear a belt which keeps the weapon snug to the body and have never had any problems with it coming out.

Texas and Louisiana have reciprocity so if you are a TX resident and have a TX CHL you can carry in LA and vice versa.
The new law that was quoted basically invalidates non-resident permits, for instance if you are a Louisiana resident (or another state) and your only permit is a Non-Resident Florida permit. LA only recognizes your permit if it is issued by your state of residence.

quote:There is a company based out of Central, LA (the city not the region) that makes holsters. His company is www.rmholsters.com I have one of his "Low Riders" and it's easily the most comfortable kydex iwb holster I've ever used.

Glock 36 is a subcompact .45. The factory mag only holds six rounds so it's a lot thinner than the Glock 30 (10 rounds). I put the one round extension on my mags mainly for the extra grip. By no means tiny but not bad for a .45 with eight rounds.
