How did you preserve the skin, and clean it properly?

Skinned it & stapled scaled side down to a board before coating with salt. Let it sit indoors under a fan for three days before wiping off the salt. Lastly, cut it off the board and applied a coat of 50% denatured alcohol & 50% glycerin to make it supple before letting it sit another three days. Then, mounted on the board.

One note, I would have preferred to use a cedar fence picket but they would have to special order anything over a 1x6x6, and I was too impatient and opted for yellow pine.

I forgot to mention that my dog is now wary of going into my office. He usually hangs under my desk while I'm working, but now he smells the skin and catches a glimpse of it on the wall every once in a while. Comical, really.

I did one in a hotel room in hebronville, tx., a long time ago. the maids wouldn't come in the door for at least a month! they would just throw towels and sheets on the bed from the doorway. my room did sorta smell peculiar for a while.

I have that same print in my office, but no idea where to get one. I will attempt to get the title and artist name and post it here.

Mallard: The title of the print is "Acadian Lights" and was done in 1992 by Ron Picou.

I hope you apologized or at least said, "scuse me".

As previously stated, Acadian Lights is the name.
