We went last weekend, stayed at Coco Marina. We did ok. Fished Last Isle and didn't catch any. Moved to Sulpher Mine and caught about 17 keepers in two days. Mixed bag of 12 specks, 2 reds, 2 spanish mackeral and 1 triple-tail. We used live cocohoes from Lapeyrous Grocery. The specks we're pretty good size though, just far and few between.

Lots of trash fish?

My last trip I got a hardhead in the hand then a gafttop through my finger within about an hour. Swore I wasn't going back this late in the year but may go next week

Talked to someone who fished the close rigs past Timbalier and did about the same.

why has it been slow this yr? Isn’t Grande Isle / Fourchon on fire?

Not really, probably caught 2 hardheads, 3/4 giant gaftops, and 2 Spanish Mackerel. Pretty clean box considering we were fishing with live shrimp.

Most of the trout were schoolies so we had a decent number of throwbacks, but had probably 15-20 in the 16-18" range.

We caught 55 or so of the trout on live shrimp and remaining on matrix shad.

there was lots of trash out west on Friday out of Dularge. Bluefish, ladyfish, lookdowns and hard heads. Ended up with 25 trout on plastics but the bite was only on for about 30 minutes.

Not sure...I haven't been to Fourchon or GI. I've fished Cocodrie twice this year and it's been about the same for trout.

It seems to be that the whole state is slow on trout.
