You don't want to know what EGT's I run by the end of the 1/4 mi.

you should be safe...

why are you flooring it?

are you doing so in gear under a load...aka lugging it?

did it downshift?

usually a downshift will drop egts...

ETA: I've never seen EGT's rise just from mega dosing additives...

Flooring it to build rail pressure and hopefully blow whatever is in there out. Torque converter locked up 100% hammered down from 60mph(I have it set to lock up at 55). I topped it off with fuel just now, which was another 10 gallons.

I would just drive it normal...not teenager normal...the additives will work better with time not trying to force it...the other 10 gallons will dilute it to where it should be...but I think the high EGT's weren't from the additives just from the way you hit it...5th or 6th locked up with no down shift at full throttle will run the EGT's up...

EGT's are usually from not enough air(boost)or too much fuel delivered at any particular moment without enough air pumping...too much black smoke is a sign of too much fueling...with modern electronics programming you should hardly ever see black smoke, even at the track...a properly written tune can eliminate most of that...and keep the EPA from coming down hard on the diesel world...

we're under a microscope right now due to the immature crowd that chooses to black out intersections, or "roal coal" on a pedestrian or cyclist...

I think after this tank, you'll be surprised...

I forgot to mention...stay out of farm country or where you know tank dips get done regularly for the next few fill ups...I know a few cases of the red ATF showing up in a test and some getting fined for running off road diesel when they were only running ATF in their fuel...those a holes won't believe you and it's fruitless to try and prove otherwise...

I used to own one of those (a T800 chassis 1500HD). It had 284,000 miles on the odometer when I sold it. It was an incredibly reliable truck, but I didn't like the dashboard very much.

The new ones look very nice. My biggest concern would be the interior, and they've definately addressed that.

This is sort of what my company did. As bad as those powerstrokes got around 2005ish, the Sprinter van was (as a whole) much worse than the E series for them.

Ran through 3/4 of a tank and it started doing it again. It's got to be something electrical, but I can't see a fricking thing in that engine compartment. It is weird that nothing happens unless the engine is hot and I am getting on it. Also weird that I can turn it off and start it right back up and it doesn't happen

Eta: Been idling fine for 10 minutes, and just randomly started missing again

are you a member of powerstroke.org or any of the Ford forums?

I'm sure you'd get much better help from some of their regulars...

I've never opened the hood on a 6.4 and I don't know what to tell you about a possible electrical problem...

On my LB7 the injectors are a bitch to change...you have to strip everything off the top of the motor and remove the valve covers to get to them...was a tough job, but can be done with a little patience...the LLY and newer Dmax's the injector goes through the valve covers...you still have to remove a bunch of stuff to get to them but they are still easier...and those injectors seem to last longer...LB7 Injectors are of a poor design and not much improvements were able to be made other than the latest with chrome ball and seat...and the newer bodies that resist internal cracking(notice they say resist not crack proof)

I was, but I found out quickly that the members there are 99% necks that just heard someone say something once.

From what I've read, the wiring is underneath the fuel cooler and the injectors are inside the valve covers. Both probably a cab-off deal and I'm not dropping another $2k just to fix it

Cab off to pull valve covers? That sucks.

See if you can get your hands on a wiring diagram and a fluke meter. You might be able to check the signal to the injector easily and that'll keep you from pulling an injector for no reason if it's the signal. Your FICM might be whiging out.

Codes it is now throwing are P0207 and P0208. Original code was P0202. I have to check, but I'm almost positive this truck couldn't be any more of a nightmare

Pretty sure is is only running on 6 cylinders right now and I am in fricking Biloxi

This guy just offered me $21k if everything was good with the truck. Well, everything is not, so I am fricked again. Now I've got to come up with an excuse as to why he can't see if for a few days. Probably just tell him I'm going to the beach or something

It is going in the shop at 7am tomorrow, so it'll hopefully be good by Wednesday when I get back from the "beach"
