CHL Holster Recommendations? And my qualifying target

Took my CHL class today
Gonna have to wait three weeks to send in the application because the address on my driver's license and CHL have to match.
Just got my new driver's license, but have to wait til I move at the end of the month to get the address changed.
Anyway, I'm looking at the Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster. I wear a suit most of the time, so I may get a shoulder holster as well. I'll be carrying a full-size Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm. What do y'all recommend? Anything other than the Crossbreed?
As y'all may remember, I posted a thread after the first time I took my gun to the range and put 100 rds. through it. As of the end of my test today, the total is up to 284 rds. Groups have gotten a lot tighter... Mostly due to getting comfortable with the pistol. Scored a 243/250, best score in the class. :nana: :nana: :nana:

How large of a fella are you? My suggestion would be to get a different gun for every day carry. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your pistol but concealing a full-size weapon will get old very quick. Most of the time people will carry gung ho for a while but will start slacking because of comfort/ease of concealment. You have a permit. Make sure you carry where ever you go (law permitting).
I have a kahr pm9 that I use as a back up while on duty and it slips in the pocket very quickly and comfortably while off duty. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not saying my gun is better than yours by any means or anything of the sort. My point is carry the gun and don't get away from doing it.
Now back to your request. I have no personal history with a cross bread but have a buddy that likes it. I've found that holsters are kinda like fishing poles. To each his own. Try as many as you can.
Congrats on getting your ccl and good shooting!

I use the Crossbreed hoslter with a baby glock. Not sure I could carry a full size gun with it daily.

Is that a hole in the target on it's right hand? Knuckle shot FTW

If it is a bullet hole his score should be 238. That is some nice shooting regardless.
I shot this past weekend with my .40 and with the 9 and I scored a 200 and 225 with the .40 and did not hav a full 50 rounds with me to score the 9
Not bad for first time shooting it in over 9 months.

Don't think it's a bullet hole... Instructor scored it a 243.

not very, that's the problem.
I will get another pistol eventually, but for right now it just isn't in the cards, and probably won't be for a while. So I just have to deal with it for now and carry what I've got.

Even though you were a suit most of the time, which is
Kick arse, though.

unless you keep your coat on all day, a shoulder holster may not be the thing to use.
yeah, I take it off quite often. and lately I haven't had to wear a jacket since we aren't in session anymore, so I figured that wasn't the best way to go.

I really like Simply Rugged holsters... really nice, quality holsters. They have a chart that tells you which of their holsters are available for certain firearms. Your Beretta is only available in their Cuda holster. You can wear it on a belt or get the IWB straps... it can also be worn on their Chesty Puller system.

For a gun that size, Crossbreed is the way to go if you plan on having a comfortable experience.

How far back and how many rounds do you have to shoot for Tx CCH?
Posted on 7/20/11 at 1:05 pm to Glock17
20 shots, 3 yds.
20 shots, 7 yds
10 shots, 15 yds.
different timings, sequences within those.

Personally, I would recommend many, many more rounds and possible training before you considering carrying. It is a huge responsibility and unless I am reading this incorrectly, I wouldn't feel safe in myself carry a rig that I have that few rounds through.
On a side note, many Texas CHL Instructors recommend you don't keep your targets.

That's just through this pistol since I bought it new. I've put many more rounds through the same pistol that friends owned, I have rented, etc. Probably ~2-3k.

I didn't. That's a picture of it still on the stand. I left it at the range.

ScubbaBLAKE -- not to offend, but again remember you are now putting YOUR LIFE into THAT gun. Many would recommend many, many more rounds than 300 before carrying that particular sidearm. Just sayin'....
Boats n Hose -- Legality. In fact, all the State of Texas requires is Pass or Fail and my instructor(s) never told anyone there scores, but rathe if they passed. Both had been called to too many court cases involving CHL Holders and how good/how poor the CHL Holder was.

I've gotta delay getting it anyway to make my CHL/DL match up... at least 6 weeks. You can bet there will be many more pushed through it in that time.
So no other recommendations than the CrossBreed, anyone? Also looked at the Minotaur today... I just wish I could see these and try them out at a shop before purchasing.

"I've been shooting bulls eyes all morning"
"what about that little guy?"
"oh that little guy? I wouldn't worry about that little guy"
Grata on the CCL!!
