I have a older Remington youth model chambered in 7mm-08. Can I change stocks on this gun to a full size stock? If so do you have any recommendations? Thanks

Model 7 .243 was my
First rifle and I still carry it almost half the time I hunt. I want to put a Boyd's laminate stock on it, but the measurements I took vs measurements on their site don't add up. Let me know when you find a good replacement.

Want to sell that youth stock? I have a 6mm Remington 700 I want to put a youth stock on for my 10yr old.

Oh, by the way, you should be able to get a full size short action stock for that thing cheap on eBay.

not gonna work .... OP has a Model Seven stock, which uses a shorter action than the 700.
Your best bet is to buy a $50 stock off Ebay and cut LOP to 12.5". As he grows out of it, sell for $50 to recoup your $$$

I don't know how you feel about synthetic stocks, but here's one from the Numrich website that should fit.

As already confirmed by others, yes you can. What you put on it depends on how much you want to spend. Less expensive: replacement factory wood or synthetic stock from ebay; a little more expensive: new stock from Bell & Carlson (synthetic), Gun Stocks Inc, Boyd's (laminate) or Stocky's (laminate; links from working for me); most expensive: synthetic from McMillan's, Brown Precision or HS Precision. Look for a stock that comes w/ a decent butt pad on it. Check the length of pull for your son and match it up w/ the different stocks.

Let us know what you end up doing.

Guess I missed his post saying it was a 7. Went back and saw it. Thanks for pointing that out. Thought I finally found one.

Give Boyd’s a look as well. Good stocks.
