Cerakote Question

Guys I traded up for a Kimber Pro Carry (Series 1)and it has a cerakote job. How hard would it be to remove it and get the original stainless look? I'm not saying the cerakote looks bad, it actually looks awesome, but I would like the original finish if possible. If not, oh well, just curious.

I don't know where to begin.
You traded up (presumably you chose this weapon), and there's nothing wrong with it (in fact, it "looks awesome"), but you want to change it anyway?
Get another one with the original finish. Removing the cerakote is going to be more trouble than it is worth. The expense and effort would be better directed towards a new weapon.

I traded my bow, Mathew Heli-M, which will depreciate at Mach 2, unlike the Kimber, which is what I was offered. So start there. Thanks.

To remove I'm pretty sure you would use the same aluminum oxide sandblasting process that was used to apply it, but at a higher pressure.
I could be wrong though.
Tiddlesmcdiddles has a cerakoting setup. I'm sure he can weigh in here.

Original finish is gone. It would cost more than its worth to refinish the stainless steel to its factory look.

Let's look at it logically, bap - it is a baked on, ceramic finish - like they used on the space shuttle's heat resistant tiles. About the only thing that's harder is diamond.
Second, they had to texture the hell out of the weapon before application, so all that's ruined anyway, even if he gets it beadblasted/sandblasted off.
By the time you spend money to remove the cerakote and refinish it back to factory specs (or nearly so, because factory original is probably not possible), he could probably have a second Kimber.
What am I missing?

That's what I assumed, but you never know until you ask. I'll never admit to knowing everything

Solid point. I let my logic skills take a break this morning obviously...

nada. spot on. OP you can leave it be or have it completely redone. cerakote is a different animal than duracoat, alumahyde etc. it can't be removed without being recoated
ETA: can we see pics of it?
