Fished BFL on Sam Rayburn, got second place overall and big bass on the boater side. Big one was 8-1.

Thanks man! Didn’t think I’d finish that high, but it was a tougher day for everyone than I thought.

Heat up the peanut oil? Jk

Nice fish! I bet it was cold as a bitch on the water.

27 something. I only had four fish and thought that would hurt me big time, but I would have needed another 8 pounder to beat him.

Nice job. I'm still trying to pump my nuts up enough to fish a BFL. May fish the Federation Open coming up in Feb.

Moving baits or flipping?

ETA: I didn't watch the video before asking

Lipless cranks, so moving baits. Letting them fall in the grass and ripping them out. There's a link to the video of me catching them at the top.

I fished one as a co angler last year, but I didn't really like it so I signed up as a boater this year. I was thinking about trying to fish the Federation, but I've never fished anywhere in southeast LA.

And i'm the opposite...never fished anywhere to the North. My first trip to Toledo got canceled this year.

Been catching them on this down here....throwing to the bank and letting it die once it hits the drop off towards the middle of the canal

Toledo has been hit or miss the last year and a half or so. I've been fishing Rayburn a good bit the last two months and catching better fish than at Toledo. I love fishing grass and Toledo is pretty devoid of it except on the south end on the Texas side. My camp is north on the LA side so that's where I do most of my fishing.

Thread hijack.

Have you been back to that other grass area?

I have not. Was on a good dock pattern in November, but haven't been back to Toledo since.

Red,
Any of the ridges out in front of 1215 have any hydrilla on them? We used to catch them pretty good dragging traps there.

A long long time ago.
