I recently got into cast netting for shrimp with the huge run of shrimp along the lakefront seawall the last month or so.

I'm wondering if their are any other spots within an hour or so drive of the lakefront that are worth trying from the bank for shrimp? Not looking for anyone's spot, just general locations. Any dams with current around? I heard point aux chene can be good, but you can't be out there after dark

Thx

I don’t know where the lakefront is….but I used to catch a hell of a lot at Rockefeller refuge south of Lake Charles.

Further than an hour but they have been catching 16-20, 21-25 shrimp in Point Aux Chene off the public weirs.

Kemo Jr has been catching some nice shrimp out there. He will be out there Monday I am sure of it. Nothing like living off the fat of the land.

Maybe try down by Fort Pike? All those shrimp are getting pulled/migrating to rigolets and Lake Borgne

Disks are better, won't roll away in current, and less likely to catch them in your net.

I've always just used a can of cheap cat food lol

When they're running you don't really need anything though
